Board-certified dermatologists are trained to recognize and treat over 3,000 conditions affecting the skin, hair, or nails. Today, you are no longer limited geographically from accessing a board-certified dermatologist.
Technology has enabled anyone with a mobile device access to a board-certified dermatologist within minutes. However, not all skin conditions are ideal for being addressed or diagnosed virtually. Conditions NOT recommended for teledermatology include pigmented lesions (i.e. new or changing moles) or new/changing growths. These often requires a skin biopsy for diagnoses thus, an in office visit is best.
